Inclusion in sustainability indices
Mondi has been recognised for its sustainable performance by being awarded membership of some of the leading global indices.

Mondi is a member of both the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and the Pan-European Dow Jones STOXX Sustainability Index. We are the only company from the forestry and paper sector that is represented in both these indices.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices follow a best-in-class approach, including the sustainability leaders from each industry on a global and regional level. They review the businesses they list annually, based on an integrated assessment of publicly available information on corporate economic, environmental and social performance with a strong focus on long-term shareholder value. We will continue to focus our efforts on addressing areas of weakness with the aim of being included in the two DJSI indices next year.

Mondi is a member of the FTSE4Good UK Index, the FTSE4Good Europe Index and the FTSE4Good Global Index. We are one of 41 new entrants to the index series in March 2008. The FTSE4Good Index Series, owned by the Financial Times and the London Stock Exchange, has been designed to measure the performance of companies that meet globally recognised corporate responsibility standards, and to help investment in those companies.

In addition, we qualified for inclusion on the 2007 Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) Index of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). This assesses the environmental, social and economic sustainability practices of listed companies, to meet the needs of those stakeholders who are interested in socially responsible behaviour and investment.
