The National Work Inspection Office (PIP) in Poland rated Mondi Corrugated Packaging Swiecie “Safe Construction Site Of 2009”
Przemyslowka PBP Holding, the general contractor of building works in Swiecie, enlisted the newly completed plant of Mondi Corrugated Packaging for the Polish competition “Safe Construction Site Of 2009” and came first. The contest, organised by the National Work Inspection Office (PIP = Panstwowa Inspekcja Pracy), awards accident free projects of building companies that are appraised according to safety, health and environment (SHE) practises at the construction site. The competition was brought to life in 2002 and takes place in each Polish province.
“The high SHE (Safety Health Environment) standards of Mondi have contributed to winning this prestigious award”, Mr. Piotr Gryszczuk, President of the Board of Przemyslowka states. “The success achieved in this project arises from the strong commitment of all participants of the construction process. It has been an extremely valuable experience, which we gained during 11 months of cooperation with Mondi in regard to health and safety and will surely yield a profit for us in the future.”
The criteria for the award are a combination of subjective observation and adhered SHE practices at the construction site. Apart from being accident free the project is rated by the site organisation and protection plan, the general house keeping of the site, the risk assessment plan and its availability to the employees as well as the efficiency of SHE management on site. Thanks to the successful project management of Przemyslowka PBP with regard to documentation, permissions and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) utilisation, the authorities in Kujawsko - Pomorskie Province valued the project as “Safe Construction Site 2009”.
The brownfield plant in Swiecie accommodates ultra-modern corrugated packaging technology and produces high quality post print, large format and heavy-duty packaging as well as shelf-ready packaging.
