Anti-Staining Pouch - the perfect stainless retort solution

Long shelf life and an eye-catching appearance at the point of sale are two main factors in Convenience Food. Trendsetting designs nowadays contain widespread white areas or light colours, presenting challenges for retort packaging. In particular, ready-made meals and sauces with high fat content and strong colours often have an undesired side effect on the packaging – they leave stains.

Mondi accepted this challenge and set out to find a solution for this problem. The result is a new retortable stand-up pouch that ensures highest barrier properties whilst sustaining opacity and enabling high-quality designs. With the introduction of the anti-staining pouch, Mondi offers a novel solution for the retort food industry and takes a pioneering position on the market.

Design
The new pouch ensures a stainless appearance of colour intense products. Throughout the retort process, the laminate retains its attractive appearance and prevents grease stains and discolouring – even with white designs. Thanks to the high opacity an appealing brand presentation is guaranteed during the entire shelf life of the product.
