Deputy Managing Director
Barbara Lederer joined Mondi in 2010 and made an exciting career in our business segment release liner, spending a few years also in some of our plants in the US. A great example of people development within our Group.
What did you study or do before you joined Mondi?
I have a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in international business.
Did you have a different role at Mondi earlier?
I started as a marketing expert and management assistant in our head office in Vienna. This role helped me to learn a lot about stakeholder management throughout the entire organisation. After 1.5 years, I moved to the United States as logistics representative European plants to support our North and South American customers supplied by our European plants. I was located in our Pleasant Prairie plant, and additionally took over the market support manager role in Pleasant Prairie to locally build up the team and market support processes. Two years later, I took over the role of supply chain manager and extended my responsibilities to purchasing, production planning, and logistics with the goal of achieving a customer satisfaction rate of 95%. Together as a team, we achieved this goal. This role was very exciting for me as we were a cross-cultural team of seven people with the goal of developing supply chain processes to deliver high-quality service and customer satisfaction in a completely new organisation. It felt like working in a start-up environment, with an extremely motivated team that was willing to go the extra mile to achieve our goals. After this role, I took over the role of supply chain manager North America to streamline the processes across our three North American Release Liner sites. With a team of 17 people, we worked on aligning our supply chain processes across the North American Release Liner plants to leverage our production capacity across North America and create a seamless experience for our customers. Among other things, we achieved our goal of having the lowest working capital on inventories for all three plants in our segment. Since October, I have been Deputy Managing Director at Mondi Jülich in Germany, supporting Patrick Lennertz, Managing Director Mondi Heerlen & Jülich, and the team to get back on track to our success of 2010. This is a very exciting and enriching role, as we are creating our new culture and strategy together. We have a great team and an opportunity to be very successful.
