Quality & Technical Customer Service Manager

Your responsibilities:

The manager assures consistent quality of production by measuring different quality parameters and gives timely feedback and recommendations to the production area.  Achieve paper quality assurance & operational objectives by contributing statistical techniques, data analysis, and interaction with mill.  Ensures the quality of raw material meets the specified criteria by applying relevant quality control techniques and interacts with areas such as; production and procurement to ensure sustainable performance. Actively supports our bag customers with matters of paper run ability and bag construction in their sites. Supports laboratory activities others than quality

  • Interact with operations to identify quality improvement and cost reduction opportunities on a routine basis
  • Interact with customers to track mill paper performance and assist with optimization opportunities associated with their operating lines
  • Monitor mill quality data and provide COA information as required.  Investigate and communicate with operations for out of compliance issues
  • Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change
  • People development and management:  responsibility for quality lab operations
  • Manage the customer complaint process flow.  Investigate and seek corrective actions with operations
  • Assigns specific duties to personnel, such as working on special projects, considering individual’s knowledge and experience
  • Travel as required to address Customer concerns

Our requirements:

  • Six Sigma process improvement a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of programs
  • Advanced skill level preferred with Microsoft Excel
  • Hands on Self-Starter, and willingness to work in details
  • Dynamic, flexible team player with demonstrated ability to lead others.
  • Excellent communicator, organized in thought and delivery, proven ability to independently develop and drive action plans and projects
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Attention to detail, motivation and enthusiasm
  • Strong coaching, mentoring and motivating skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diverse group of individuals at all organization levels
  • The demands of the position will require travel upwards of 2-3 days per week as deemed necessary to support the operation


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Science, Engineering, or related field is required


  • 10 - 12 years of applicable experience in the paper industry
  • Manufacturing experience in paper converting is a plus
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills are critical, as is the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Someone that can Multi-task and thrives on goal setting and accountability.  Can very quickly analyze complex issues and present a well thought out response plan
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
