Mondi SCP and the Secondary School of Polytechnics jointly requested the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic for opening a special branch of study – Mechatronics - with the possibility of applying the knowledge gained here in the Ružomberok paper mill. The representatives of the region´s largest private employer attended the school year opening ceremony on the first day of the school year when, for the first time, first-year students took their seats on the benches of the new branch of study tailored to the needs of Mondi SCP. However, the students of other branches of study will also have the opportunity to acquire practical skills directly in the mill under the supervision of experienced Mondi SCP personnel. „In our company, we will need generational renewal since many of our employees are approaching retirement age. We therefore look for young, smart and talented people with a positive and responsible attitude toward work to unfold their and our true potential”, said Ivana Keyzlarová, Mondi SCP Human Resources manager. „I hope that our students will appreciate and make use of this great opportunity of mutual cooperation and I believe that we will be able to provide the company with such qualified people after their graduation“, added Vladimír Pančík, the school headmaster.

During the school year opening, the representatives wished the students a lot of success and donated the cheque in amount of € 3000 for the school to purchase equipment and to train personnel for the welding school.
