FSC logo

FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) & FSC® Recycled

The FSC logo allows consumers to recognise products that are manufactured from wood raw materials originating from well-managed forests, which are independently certified according to a wide range of internationally recognised social, economic and environmental standards. The certification stands for the protection not only of woodland and biodiversity, but also of the livelihood and long-term well-being of local forest communities.

PEFCTM (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes)

The PEFCTM Council is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, founded in 1999 which promotes sustainably managed forests through independent third party certification. PEFCTM provides reassurance to purchasers of wood and paper products that they are promoting the sustainable management of forests.

EU Ecolabel

The EU Ecolabel was established in March 1992 and aims to promote products that are less harmful in their impact on the environment than other products of the same product group. Furthermore, it is meant to provide consumers with an accurate and scientifically based product information and product advice. The EU Ecolabel is managed by the European Union and supported by the European Commission and all EU and EEA members. All Mondi branded papers produced at Mondi SCP, Mondi Neusiedler and Mondi Syktyvkar are EU Ecolabel certified.

Austrian Environmental Label

Set up by the Austrian Ministry of Environment in 1990, the Austrian Environmental Label guarantees products and services to meet high environmental, quality, and product safety standards. The characteristic logo offers consumers the chance to choose products that are produced, utilised and disposed of in the most environmentally-friendly way possible. Our NAUTILUS® and BIO TOP 3® papers are certified with the Austrian Environmental Label.
Blue Angel

The world’s first and oldest environmental label, the Blue Angel is the official environmental label of the German Federal Ministry of the Environment. It applies to many different products and services, including office paper. Paper products marked with this symbol must be produced from 100% recycled fibre and meet the highest environmental standards. The recycled papers NAUTILUS® ProCycle and NAUTILUS® Classic have the Blue Angel environmental label.
Nordic Ecolabel

The Nordic Ecolabel, also know as the Nordic Swan, is the official Ecolabel of the Nordic countries. For pulp and paper products the Nordic Ecolabelling Organization offers the inspection of pulp mills all over the world. Papers, which fulfil the inspection requirements, can be used as raw materials by Nordic Ecolabelled printing companies and for printed matter. Color Copy, MAESTRO® color and  DNS® premium are all now listed in the My Swan Account database as Nordic Ecolabel inspected papers.

CO2 neutral

The product carbon footprint calculation was done together with the environmental consultancy Climate Partner and in accordance with the Confederation of European Paper Producers’ (CEPI) 10 toes standard for carbon footprint calculation. Using this framework, Mondi presents a standardised statement detailing the environmental impact of our products on climate change. We neutralize unavoidable emissions related to our paper production from cradle to Mondi factory gate by supporting verified emissions reduction projects. Color Copy is a CO2 neutral paper. NAUTILUS® SuperWhite, BIO TOP 3® and all high-speed inkjet papers are available with a COneutral option.

Product carbon footprint

Mondi’s approach is emission reduction before offsetting. In 2014 we achieved a -29% reduction, exceeding our target of -15%. So at the end of 2014, we committed to reducing specific GHG emissions by a further 15% by 2030. The product carbon footprint for all Mondi branded papers is available upon request.

ISO 9001

ISO 9001 is an international business reference on quality management. Operations that implement an ISO quality management system must have procedures in place to ensure both customer and regulatory requirements are met, with the objective of improving customer satisfaction and achieving continual improvement. Mondi Neusiedler was the first mill to receive ISO 9001 certification back in 1992. Since then, all Mondi mills have been accredited.

ISO 9706

The ISO 9706 certification indicates a paper’s age resistance as measured according to permanence or longevity.

ISO 14001

The ISO 14001 certification indicates that an operation runs an environmental management system which lives up to the high ISO requirements. ISO 14001 ensures measures are in place to reduce a company’s harmful environmental effects and that it strives for continual improvement of its environmental performance. In 1995 Mondi Neusiedler in Austria was certified and with the accreditation of the Russian mill in 2004, all of Mondi’s uncoated fine paper mills now hold ISO 14001 certificates.

DIN 6738

DIN 6738 is a standard for permanent papers, which indicates the age resilience of wood-containing, recycled and wood-free papers. The Mondi papers fall under its highest longevity category: age-resistant papers with high standards of longevity (LDK 24-85).

EN 71-3

The European standard EN 71 specifies safety requirements for toys. EN 71- 3 is one part of European standard EN 71 and certifies safe use in terms of the migration of certain elements from toy surface.
