Biobased Films
Reducing dependency on fossil resources.
We're firmly committed to helping our customers achieve their sustainability goals. It has led to us developing smart solutions with reduced environmental impact. One intelligent example is biobased films. These films are made of renewable biopolymers which can reduce dependency on fossil resources and improve the carbon-footprint of packaging. Plants like sugarcane or food waste can be resources for the production of such biopolymers.
The use of drop-in biopolymers does not change the properties of the packaging film or laminate (relative to conventional fossil based films made of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester or polyamide). All these properties are retained, including processability, optical performance, sealability, barrier and mechanical properties.

Give your customers an overall organic experience and pack your "green" products in one of Mondi's biobased packaging solutions, available for a wide range of applications:
Food:
Home & Personal Care
Medical & Pharmaceutical
Pet Food & Pet Care
Others, e.g. Tapes
Biobased films are not necessarily biodegradable or compostable, especially drop-in biopolymers. Non-compostable films are generally more cost effective compared to compostable films.
