More often than not, the race for true innovation starts with a problem and is won through partnership. This is one of the cornerstones of EcoSolutions, our approach to developing sustainable packaging without compromising on performance, functionality or customer brand.
Many of our close customer partnerships already address these challenges. For instance, we have collaborated with Tesco Central Europe to take the corrugated waste from their warehouses and transform it into recyclable EcoVantage shopping bags that can be reused multiple times.
Tesco has rolled out these bags in its stores across Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, near to the Mondi mill where we produce EcoVantage paper. This collaboration shows how suppliers can work with retailers across the value chain to develop circular systems and turn waste back into a valuable resource.
Our target is to make our own brand packaging 100% recyclable by 2025 and to reduce packaging wherever possible. It is exciting that we are able to close the loop by recycling our operational paper waste and use the recycled fibres in our shopping bags.
