As Head of Sales - Asia/Pacific, based in Singapore, you will lead Mondi’s paper sales activities across Asia/Pacific, developing customer relationships, driving profitable business growth and strengthening our position across a diverse range of industrial and specialty paper markets.
Our business serves customers across multiple countries and industries, supplying primarily sack kraft paper for industrial applications, alongside specialty kraft and coated paper solutions. Working closely with our European mills and regional customers, you will connect market needs with our production capabilities, ensuring strong commercial performance, reliable supply and long-term customer partnerships.
Alongside your sales leadership responsibilities, you will act as Managing Director for our Singapore-based entity, ensuring effective local office management and representing the business in accordance with Mondi’s organisational and governance framework.
Your mission:
- Lead regional sales and business development: Develop and implement sales strategies for Asia/Pacific, identifying opportunities to grow volumes, strengthen market positions and expand customer relationships across the region.
- Drive commercial performance: Take responsibility for regional sales results, including volume, revenue, gross margin, forecasting and budget delivery. Make sound commercial decisions in line with Mondi’s pricing frameworks, business objectives and approval processes.
- Build strategic customer partnerships: Develop and maintain trusted relationships with key customers, understand their business needs and identify opportunities to create long-term value through our paper products and solutions.
- Lead and develop the team: Guide and empower the regional sales and customer service team, fostering accountability, collaboration, customer focus and continuous improvement.
- Connect customers with our mills: Work closely with colleagues at our production sites in Europe to translate customer demand into effective supply planning, coordinate orders and deliveries, and resolve commercial, quality and logistics challenges.
- Understand and shape the market: Monitor customer developments, competitor activity, market trends and emerging opportunities, translating insights into actionable commercial plans.
- Ensure effective business operations: Take responsibility for the management and governance of the Singapore office, ensuring effective local operations and alignment with Mondi’s policies and organisational requirements.
- Promote a culture of trust and ownership: Encourage open discussion, constructive challenge and clear accountability, enabling the team to make informed decisions and deliver results.
Your profile:
- Significant experience in senior sales or commercial leadership within an international B2B environment, ideally in paper, pulp, packaging or a closely related industrial sector.
- A proven track record of leading sales activities across multiple Asia/Pacific markets, managing complex customer relationships and delivering sustainable commercial growth.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience with sales budgets, volume and margin management, forecasting, pricing decisions and negotiations.
- Experience leading and developing teams in a multicultural environment, creating clarity, trust and accountability while enabling people to take ownership.
- The ability to combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to customer engagement, problem-solving and operational execution.
- Experience working across international supply chains and coordinating customer requirements with manufacturing, logistics and other internal stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the cultural awareness and adaptability required to work effectively across diverse markets.
- Fluency in English; additional Asian languages would be an advantage.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the region, including regular customer visits, with travel expected to account for approximately one-third of your time.
- Experience working and living in Asia/Pacific would be a strong advantage.
Our offer:
- The opportunity to lead sales across a diverse and strategically important international region.
- A commercially influential role combining regional sales leadership with responsibility for the Singapore office.
- The opportunity to build lasting partnerships with customers and collaborate closely with Mondi’s European production sites and international colleagues.
