At Mondi Kuopio, we make semichemical corrugated containerboard from birch fiber. Our product is primarily used in packaging that requires moist resistance and strength, such as fruit and vegetable boxes. Our mill employs around 240 people and is located in Sorsasalo, about 10 km from Kuopio city center.

A specific degree, education or previous work experience may be required depending on the position you apply for. In office positions we expect good English language skills, as it is our second working language. In general we appreciate good communication skills, interest towards continuous improvement and a can-do attitude. We care about our employees and provide them with training and support wherever needed to develop them and ensure a successful career.
Working schedules
We have several different working time models at the mill. Most office employees work the regular day shift (37,5 or 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday). We have a flexible working hours model in use for our day shift workers, which benefits a good work-life balance.
The majority of our production employees work 12-hour shifts, where they have four shifts on consecutive days (two day shifts and two night shifts), followed by six days off. However, in certain departments employees have varying working time models and some employees also work the day shift on weekdays.

Internships
If you are studying for a vocational degree and looking for opportunities to try out a job in an industrial setting, an internship at Mondi Kuopio is a great first step for kickstarting your career. We offer internships to students in different departments (production, mechanical and electricity & automation maintenance, two warehouses and laboratory). Internship periods last typically 2-4 months at a time. Available internships are announced through teachers in Savon ammattiopisto, but you can also submit your application directly to us. Since 2020, we have employed around 50 % of the students after their internship period.
Students and graduates
If you are studying at a university or university of applied sciences, we offer some great opportunities! Each year, we hire students for office positions across various departments. The recruitment period begins in late November or early December.
