Role Summary
The HR Business Partner is responsible for executing the HR strategy in the business Segments of Consumer Flexibles (C-Flex) and Functional Paper & Films (FPF). This role works closely with the Business Segment COOs and Segments’ leadership teams to provide expertise and guidance in the areas of talent assessment and development, succession planning, organisational design, performance management, culture and change management. This position supports a predominantly European business of ~1,5bn € with ca. 5000 employees across 10+ countries. The role operates in a matrix structure and is accountable functionally for capability development and support of HR leads in manufacturing sites of both segments.

Your Mission:
Strategic HR Partnership & Leadership

  • Act as the senior HR partner to the C-Flex and FPF Segment Leadership Teams, driving execution of Mondi’s global HR strategy in line with business priorities.
  • Embed Mondi values and behaviours, enabling leaders to role-model the desired culture and ways of working.
  • Contribute to business strategy discussions, providing a strong people and organisational perspective informed by commercial understanding.

Organisation, Talent & Leadership Development

  • Partner with leaders to design future-fit organisational structures, ensuring role clarity, simplification and organisational effectiveness.
  • Lead talent assessment, succession planning and development planning for critical roles and key talent.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to senior leaders to build contemporary leadership capabilities and high-performing leadership teams.


HR Delivery & Operating Rhythm

  • Lead and coordinate key HR processes across the segments, including performance management, salary planning, workforce planning, engagement and employee listening, development planning and DE&I.
  • Partner closely with HR Centres of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, Talent & D&I, Total Rewards, Programs & Analytics, HR Compliance) to ensure a cohesive and aligned HR agenda.

People Partnering & HR Capability

  • Guide and support site HR People Partners, ensuring effective implementation of the global HR strategy and consistent HR standards.
  • Continually assess HR capability across sites, addressing gaps through targeted recruitment, development, feedback and coaching.

Employee Relations & Governance

  • Provide leadership on employee relations, including union and works council engagement, ensuring issues are handled effectively, transparently and in line with local regulations and Mondi policies.
  • Ensure fair, consistent and compliant handling of all HR matters across countries.

Collaboration & Presence

  • Actively contribute as a member of the Extended Mondi HR Leadership Team, fostering collaboration and supporting enterprise-wide HR initiatives.
  • Maintain strong site connectivity through regular visits, ensuring understanding of local challenges and effective feedback loops.

Your Profile

  • Master’s degree or equivalent; HR qualification is an advantage
  • 7–10 years’ experience as an HR Business Partner in roles of increasing responsibility
  • Broad HR expertise across workforce planning, talent management, organisational development, performance management, rewards, people operations, HR systems and analytics
  • Experience in manufacturing or processing environments, preferably Consumer Goods and/or Packaging
  • Proven success operating in a multinational, matrixed organisation without direct authority
  • Strong understanding of European labour markets, employment legislation and employee relations across multiple countries
  • Commercial acumen with understanding of economic drivers, EBITDA and cash flow
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategy into pragmatic action
  • Strong influencing, coaching and relationship-building skills across all organisational levels
  • Culturally aware, resilient and comfortable operating in complex and ambiguous environments
  • Fluent in English; German and/or another European language is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
