About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Global EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) Compliance Specialist to join our team. This newly created role is critical to ensuring compliance with evolving EPR regulations across the EU, UK, and globally (e.g. USA, Canada, Chile). You will play a central role in managing regulatory obligations for over €3 billion in international sales and supporting Group-wide EPR compliance.

Your Mission

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to packaging waste laws, including reporting, fee payments, and recycling targets.
  • Information Management: Track, consolidate, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of EPR requirements across jurisdictions.
  • Contracting & Legal Coordination: Manage tenders and contracts with recycling funds and legal representatives; liaise with external experts.
  • Data Management & Reporting: Collect, analyse, and report waste data; ensure integration with SAP and accurate submission of country-specific reports.
  • Documentation & Invoicing: Adapt invoices and documentation to reflect packaging waste data in line with local laws.
  • Audit Oversight: Coordinate and supervise packaging disposal audits.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with mills, sustainability, legal, finance, sales, and product management teams.
  • Plastics Tax: Administer plastics tax compliance.
  • Evolving Compliance Tasks: Support additional compliance areas such as FSC/PEFC audits, labelling, and recyclability monitoring as they become relevant.

Your Profile

Education & Experience:

  • University degree in environmental sciences, sustainability, environmental law, public policy, engineering, or business administration with a sustainability focus.
  • Proven experience in regulatory/environmental compliance, ideally from recycling funds, consultancies, or government agencies.
  • Familiarity with environmental legislation, reporting frameworks, and SAP systems.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders in a matrix organisation.
  • Proactive, responsible, and confident in an international environment.

Languages:

  • Excellent command of English and German (additional languages are a plus).

  • Willingness to travel.
  • Interest in environmental policy and regulatory developments.
