This key position plays a central role in driving the growth of Mondi’s business within the Dach/BLX regional sales team, reporting directly to the Regional Manager.  The Regional Sales DACH will take full responsibility for managing and developing customer accounts while providing strategic direction to achieve sales targets. The role combines significant autonomy and accountability, offering the opportunity to influence both customer relationships and business outcomes.

We are looking for an individual with a passion for sales, a proven track record in the packaging industry, and a strong desire to grow within a dynamic global company. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working autonomously, while also being part of a supportive and highly collaborative team. The ideal candidate will be driven by innovation, sustainability, and creating value for both Mondi and our customers in a rapidly evolving marketplace.

Your mission:

  • Lead the development and execution of sales strategies for both new and existing customers in North Germany, ensuring the achievement of sales targets in line with regional goals.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key customers through proactive management and close collaboration.
  • Take responsibility for managing a portfolio of (key) accounts, offering expert consultation and support to address customer needs and drive business expansion.
  • Manage complex, multi-plant tenders and negotiations, ensuring alignment across multiple sites and optimizing pricing, delivery, and service terms.
  • Act as a key advisor to customers on sustainability initiatives, helping them align with Mondi’s sustainability strategy, while identifying opportunities for value creation through innovative, sustainable (D4R) solutions.
  • Track regulatory developments, such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes, and assess their implications for the product mix and total cost of ownership, proactively advising customers on these matters.
  • Stay informed on the emissions landscape, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and collaborate with dedicated accounts to determine business cases based on emissions reduction potential.
  • Gain a deep understanding of recycling and collection streams in dedicated regions to connect Mondi’s value proposition with customer needs in the context of local waste management and recycling systems.
  • Work closely with the Technical Account Manager. Understand the customer's production landscape, including machine types and potential innovation windows, to identify new business opportunities and improve product offerings.
  • Drive innovation and new business solutions, ensuring that customer needs in sustainability, regulatory compliance, and technical excellence are met through collaboration with Mondi’s internal teams.
  • Serve as the key interface between regional sales, the Group Sustainability Team, Central R&D, Central Procurement, and Marketing, ensuring seamless communication and alignment on strategic projects and innovations.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to provide valuable market intelligence to the team and contribute to strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure timely and effective reporting, planning, and follow-up to meet sales objectives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Your profile:

  • Proven Sales Expertise: A seasoned sales professional with a strong history of delivering consistent and profitable sales growth, demonstrating the ability to manage and grow customer relationships strategically.
  • Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of flexible packaging, particularly within the food sector (coffee, retort applications, etc.), and familiarity with HD flexo and rotogravure printing technologies.
  • Technical Acumen: Comfortable discussing complex technical topics and translating them into customer-facing solutions that deliver tangible value.
  • Experience in Key Sectors: Experience in the Coffee and Fresh & Processed Food sectors is highly advantageous.
  • Strategic Account Management: Ability to manage key customer accounts independently, providing ongoing support and creating long-term value.
  • Sales & Negotiation Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing skills to drive sales and collaborate effectively with both customers and internal teams.
