Your mission:

  • Understands the legal and safety requirements – OHS ACT 
  • Manages legal compliance of contractors for the above requirements
  • Perform ad hoc safety inspections on contractors Plant and equipment
  • Ensure legal register of all scaffolding builds and MEWPs on site are maintained
  • Ensures a register of contractors employees on site are maintained
  • Daily monitoring of Scaffolding, Mobile elevated work platforms(MEWP), Mobile cranes, Riggers, etc
  • Forward plan and Schedule all contractor work on a weekly basis
  • Approves ad hoc work requirements
  • Assessing Needs: Controller assess the needs required based on project specifications and plans accordingly
  • Collaborating and working with BU planners when necessary
  • Monitoring number of contractors on site and were they are used and how to use them efficiently and planning and coordinating proficiencies relating to the utilization of manpower
  • Monitors and highlights deviations to planned work
  • Weekly reporting on contractor efficiencies – people and equipment - Provide reports to verify results 
  • Maintain contractor head count to an acceptable level (TBA) – and report on daily headcount
  • Monitors quality of equipment brought on site by contractors
  • Log corrective and safety notifications for any defects identified during inspections on equipment

Your profile:

  • N6 National Diploma: Mechanical 
  • 5 years of experience working in a heavy industrial environment 
  • OHS Act Standards
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Meticulous attention to detail
